1. RP opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. Apologies received and noted. RP has received correspondence from Elizabeth Atherton regarding cuts at WNO. RP asked the groups permission to raise the concerns with the relevant persons and organisations. Group agreed to this course of action. And agenda this for next meeting. RP to Action 2. RP agreed minutes, No changes raised. No actions 3. MP from the National music Service provided a paper report to the group along with copies of the most recent NMS newsletter. Copy of report to be attached to minutes. NW to action 4. Aled Owens presented a report to the group from Music Venues Trust. Aled gave an overview of current issues that MVT are working on including ticket levy and the agent of change principle in relation to planning policy and music venues. Copy of report to also be attached to minutes – NW to action. 5. Andrew Morgan from A Strings music shop provided the group with a written report highlighting the difficulties that independent music retailers are currently facing. AM made a number of recommendations as to how the NMS could work with Independent Retailers. MP from NMS offered to meet with AM to discuss these further. Tamasree from Kiran Cymru also offered to meet. NW to arrange introduction. 6. Music Fayre Update – RP advised the Group that the date of the Music Fayre has been set for September 25th. The event is to raise the profile and highlight the wide range of wonderful musicians and music organisations across Wales. RP asked for any organisations that may be interested in taking part to contact her office. 7. CPG External Visit – RP suggested an external visit to UK Parliament and or Scottish Parliament. RP asked permission from Group to go ahead and explore the possibility of a visit. 8. A.O.B. – RP took the opportunity to thank Paul Carr for his service to the Group as he stands down from his position as Secretariat. Thanks also passed to Susan Wood for her work and support. 9. A.O.B. - Stephen McNally from Making Music advised the Group of the Making Music Day event at the Senedd on Friday 21st June between 12noon and 2pm. Global event that has happened for 40 years – this is the first one in Wales. NW to circulate details of event to the Group.
